Hello everyone,

My father has a 2007 Nissan Versa Sedan, 270,000kms 1.5 Litre engine with Jatco CVT(This particular one was made in japan)

He purchased it in 2018 for about 2000USD with 240,000kms and a rebuilt CVT by the dealer.

So far he's put about 650USD annually into it for service and basic maintenance such as tyres, brake pads engine mounts etc.

The car runs great with no issues and is only driven by my father on the highway.

If he wants to sell it, what sort of money should he look at?

I am aware that these JATCO CVTs are notorious for failing prematurely.

Best regards

Tanmay

It's a 14 year old Nissan with almost 170,000 miles.

It has  almost no resale value.

Keep driving it as long as it runs

Yes I agree. No point in selling now...just drive it till it dies!

I doubt the value is that much so drive it into the ground.

If he got it for 2 grand 3 years ago and it is still running he got his money's worth so drive it till the wheels fall off something major happens.

@kerem
I will do so. I am surprised that the engine doesn't burn oil!

Definitely worth keeping at this point as long as it runs and drives. They haven’t seen many cvt concerns after being rebuilt and it doesn’t have a resale value worth selling

Thank you guys we will drive it till it drops.

Then maybe my dad can get a different vehicle.

Correct. Drive until the CVT blows! Just happened to my friends Altima, 150k and POOF!

I agree. Also, I recently discovered that the "rebuilt" CVT unit is a second hand unit from a wreck yard. Lets see how long it holds up.

if the car is regularly maintained and looked after it should be reliable and trouble free.

Its been alright so far. Until the CVT holds up.
