Are you familiar with the Slime Smart Spair Plus tire inflator? I bought it from Advance Auto Parts and it was $38.99 (without tax). What are your thoughts on it?
Almost, but it’s the plus version which doesn’t have that sealant container. Instead it has 14 oz container of sealant in which you connect via a hose to the valve stem.
I think you wasted your money. The goop is a great way to ruin a tire, and the compressor looks really cheaply made.
Get a good pump and a plug kit.
It even looks like cheap junk.
Very good, it looks like the original model that Scotty talked about and linked to in that video is unavailable but there is a newer model that is:

Even though it's China made I've had this for a while and found that it works well. The one that Scotty can be seen using in his videos is an older made-in-USA pump that I think he has said is not made any more.

You can see they at least attempted to add some cooling, and that will make it last longer.
I think another desirable feature would be replaceable wear parts, so you don't have to throw it away.
It's decent for what it is but I'd love to find one like the one Scotty uses. As with other Harbor Fright stuff I'm sure they don't sell the parts for it. This pump is certainly not exclusive to HF, I've seen what appears to be the identical item on Amazon and elsewhere.
I use a very similar version of this one. Made in China too.
Total waste of money. You should never put that junk in your tire. If you haven't used it yet, I suggest you return it.
Well I guess someone must work for this company because I got a down vote over the truth {black}
I found another compressor. It’s also 12V, but it’s 100 PSI. Are you familiar with that tool? I’ll post the link below.

I have one of those as well. It's smaller, lighter, and cheaper, and takes about twice as long to inflate tires but it does work better than the really cheap plastic jobs. Takes less current than the bigger one so it can plug into a cigarette lighter instead of using battery clamps. Handy if tires just need to be topped up a few pounds.
The air compressor's maximum pressure is less important than the volume of air moved as long as it develops enough pressure for your application. For automotive use the highest needed would usually be 60 psi for doughnut spares. HF also has a crappy little plastic air compressor they sell for $10 (used to be $5 with a coupon) which allegedly develops 150 psi. It moves so little air that it would turn into a heap of melted plastic surrounding a little scrap tin before the tire would be inflated. (Really only good for inflating pool toys and the like.)
Now that I know which one Scotty talked about (or at least the successor to it) I'm going to order up one of those, looks like a real brute that will get the job done when I don't feel like firing up my garage compressor.
What other tire inflators can I use other than that?
slime is ok in slow moving equipment ,or emergency use till you get to where your going you will always have a out of balance problem in high speed tire dont leave it in to long
I wouldn't even use it in an emergency. Some tire shops will refuse to deal with it.
Where can I find those metal compressors Scotty used in that tire inflator video or even that Chinese one Chuck posted?
Chuck posted an Amazon link for you an hour ago ...
Have you tried Google?
I found another compressor. It’s also 12V, but it’s 100 PSI. Are you familiar with that tool? I’ll post the link below.

that looks pretty close to the HF one Chuck posted.
It's got 4.3 out of 5 stars from 2600 reviews, so it can't be that bad.
Have you tried out that compressor before to see if it works in the real world?
How does anybody ‘try out’ something when purchasing online? I don’t know about you, but I try to go off of ‘seemingly genuine’ reviews.
Are those inflators Chuck posted compact as what the manufacturer claims? It looks bigger in pictures, but that’s just me.
If you open the amazon link there's a video of a person using it.
The brown pouch is about the size of a lunch bag. Compact enough to fit in a car trunk.
To move enough air volume to inflate tires in a reasonable amount of time takes a larger displacement cylinder and a bigger electric motor to power it, so a high volume pump is going to be larger. If the cylinder is going to have sufficient cooling so it doesn't burn out it needs cooling fins which take up yet more space.
Well this is strange, I've used Slime for years in bicycles, cars and my motorcycle! The stuff works like a charm and I've never had any balancing issues either. I always inform the tire shops when I drop off the tire and none have complained. I say use it.
Didn’t Mountain Man Joe say above that the slime can destroy your tires? Did that never happened on your vehicles?
Nope. I had it in a tire for months at one time and zero problems.
