2007 Chevy Trailblazer LTS 6 cylinder. aprox. 160000 miles. The warning light keeps coming on. I did some research and discovered the sensor is on the steering column and not easy to repair, Givin the age of the rig and miles is that something I need to worry about?
I would absolutely fix it. First of all with that light lit up, I don't know what's going on. If a computer module suddenly fails, how am I supposed to know?
It's going to affect the safety and stability of your vehicle. I wouldn't want the ABS/Stabilitrak doing the wrong thing situation where traction/stability is lost, with consequences being potentially lethal.
The steering angle sensor is actually very easy to fix.
I would not worry about it.
The sensor is doing its job telling you something is wrong. What codes is it showing?
Only codes are Crank Position Sensor, I have already changed that sensor and the Cam sensor still getting code. The vehicle runs fine so I am not worrying about it for now. I live in the pacific northwest and winter is coming up Winters here are fairly short. Just want to know if it is a safety issue.
