Hello,
Question from Poland. Question is about ideological approach. What do you think about what to buy for long time (15 years? - I do nothing with repairing) and long milage:
- honda 2023 zrv („civic corssover”; engine: 2.0 i-MMD/184 HP, e-CVT continuously variable transmission and front drive)?
Or buy 2 years old honda crv (suv) with milage 26 000 km?
Or buy car after a collision in the USA, fixed like 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee and make lpg for cheaper use?
Thank you for reply. I've been struggling with this for quite time, hence the question. I’ve before used 2017 dodge durango 5,7 hemi(od course after small collision in usa) drive this vehicle was like a dream but I had accident and now I need to change a car.
Best regards
No option for hybrid any ideas?
In the U.S. Toyota is the king of hybrids, they have best, most reliable system hands-down. However expecting to get 15 years out of anything without needing major repairs is going to be a gamble.

Don't buy a Grand Cherokee. They're badly made and won't last.
Or buy 2 years old honda crv (suv) with milage 26 000 km?
Is this powered by an internal combustion engine only? For longevity, you want the least moving parts as possible, so it will break down much more slowly than the hybrid with the CVT, for example. Less complexity equals more reliability, 9 times out of 10.
honda crv (suv) with milage 26 000
Yes.
honda 2023 zrv
We do not know if Honda's hybrid system will hold up -
they only recently began building that type of hybrid systems.
(their previous ones were motor assisted hybrids and not "real" hybrids)
2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Avoid that crap.
Question from Poland (...) dodge durango 5,7 hemi
Wow that must have been expensive to fuel especially in Poland.
I was trying to understand how fuel economy is critical for Poland and I came a shocking conclusion ?
Average gross salary in 2022 was 6,346 zlotys - after tax that's 4 477 zł
So at the average fuel price of 7.22 zł, that's 620 litters enough to only go 4,340km...
Is this true that the average polish man can't afford to fuel a Durango???
honda 2023 zrv
Too new to know.
Or buy 2 years old honda crv (suv) with milage 26 000 km?
Generally yes. Which one?
Are you limited only to these?

Yes. You’re right in all.
I put right away LPG in Dodge. And it started to be affordable:
100 km on fuel it was around 16 liters, if fast drive 18 liters so more or less 28 dollars
100 km on LPG 11 l - 13 liters so around 9,7 dollars
Big difference for me. However in winter for short distance was in fuel - because LPG turned later not at first. But still all affordable.
I don’t know how is in USA but in Poland for example small flat (2 rooms - 40 square meters) in capital city (like Warsaw in a good neighborhood) costs as much as 2024 Volvo XC90. For me unbelievable.
That’s why many people are buying USA suv (after collision) and put inside LPG.
Example: here in PL
Volvo xc90 cost around 88 400 dollars
Honda CVR 2022 hybrid around 44 883 dollars
Honda CVR 2023 hybrid around 58 200 dollars
Dodge Durango 5,7 hemi 2020 (after collision from Canada/USA, fixed and ready to go) + LPG instillation around 30 000 - 40 000
But today very hard is find good mechanical car from USA after small collision. Most of them are after big big accident and they had „strange” history - even in carfax is many times only sentence about SALVAGE TITLE only. You do not see any pictures. And on VIN numer / when you find auction in USA to see photos - it can be view cars with different VIN but pictures are the same… View years ago was easer for me. Now I’m not sure so I decide to get car like Honda instead.

Thank you for quick reply.
Yes, it has CTV, unfortunately. No option for hybrid any ideas? All now here (Poland) cars are most popular in hybrid/electric. Commercials here only for eco systems….
Is there any brand of car – which can live long? In dodge (2017durango-hemi+lpg) I made 189 000 miles (302 000 km) in 5 years here. I’ve only changed fillters and oli and do lpg checking. Becouse of accident (dodge was crashed) I need to buy something else and I have option (good price) in Honda. Is there any model (2020-2023) which can be for long doing big such miles with something that doesn't fit without a visit to the mechanic?
Hard NO on the Jeep.
A maybe on the ZRV. It’s hard to know since it is so new. New drivetrain, new design. Although new, The drivetrain is very similar to the previous generation civic, and so far so good. But no one really knows just yet.
And a most likely yes on the CRV. The previous generation CRV has a longer track record, and it is a decent one.
Generally yes. Which one?

I'm thinking about 2022 Honda CRV 4AWD
I hope to buy car for long like 400 000 km even more I hope.
What engine? Is Honda the only option you are looking at?
2.0 i-MMD AWD (184 KM) with continuously variable transmission
Be good for my good for my assumptions? Or you have other ideas?
I personally am not fan of hybrids yet. They cost more to buy and maintain. If you drive a lot and will make 400k km in a few years, you will probably make it. Age kills batteries so don't expect to last 20 years or more without throwing serious amount of money in it.
