This is a follow-up to my previous question here.
Seems like the 2021-22 Jeep Grand Cherokee L is widely considered to be junk by the time the warranty is up, so it's out of the running. That leaves the following on my longer list. First, two from the previous question:
- 2022 Toyota Highlander XSE AWD
- 2022 Mazda CX-9 Carbon Edition AWD
As well as these:
- 2022 Kia Telluride AWD (trim level undetermined, but likely the S or EX)
- 2022 Honda Pilot EX-L or Special Edition AWD
- 2022 VW Atlas SE with Technology or SEL with 4Motion AWD
I want a three-row SUV that will be good in snow (we travel to the WV mountains every year and sometimes get snow here near DC) and that will be reliable, at least for 150K-175K miles or so, which for me should equate to about 6-8 years. I don't need one that'll last forever.
In my head I know the Highlander is probably the most dependable choice, but in my heart I really want the Mazda for its looks and fun-to-drive factor (even though it's got the least interior space of all of these), or maybe the Kia Telluride for its features, looks, and huge roominess.
I've heard about electrical issues on VWs in general, but I'm not sure if those persist on the Atlas. Scotty seems to think recent Kias and Hyundais have improved a lot, but how do they compare to the Toyotas, Mazdas, and Hondas in this vehicle class?
Thanks in advance for any advice!

My default is Toyota for many products.
But I also love Mazda’s unified approach to their lineup. I personally would go CX9.
I voted for the Highlander, but if you really want the Mazda I would go for it.
I think the Mazda should serve you well for the 6-8 year time frame.
I've seen newer Mazda sedan's with over 150k with substantial life left in them.
