Hey Scotty. I have a 2004 Toyota 4Runner SR5 V8 with 304K miles. She still cranks up strong as she would've day one on the dealer lot. I recently replaced the downstream back two O2 sensor but now I have two new codes several weeks later. I use it as a winter rig as well as hauling. Most of its use is on my property in the Appalachian Mountains. I now have a Toyota hard code reading P0430 (bank 2 evap) and a soft coffee for P0442. I know it can be an O2 sensor ($80), fuel injector, or the ECM... Do you have any advice on how I can self-diagnose with minimal tools or do I need to fork out $75+ for a diagnostic test?
The P0430 could be relate to the catalytic converter. I would have a pro check the car before spending money on parts.
For the P0442, replace the gas cap and pray it solves the issue, otherwise finding a leak is not easy.
