Tranny Fluid - are additional changes worth it?

Scotty, I'm looking to do my first "spill & fill" on my wife's 2015 Toyota Sienna AWD. I've been looking at Idemitsu ATF and was wondering your opinion? Also, I believe I'll be changing just over 3 qts of a 7+ qt system. I was thinking I would do additional changes after the next two oil changes to insure I have mostly fresh fluid. Is that a good idea...or would I just be wasting $$$?

My first car was a 1986 Toyota Corolla FX16 and man that was one wild ride. Love your videos...I teach EMTs and paramedics at the local fire academy. I'll send you the books and PowerPoints if you'll do educational videos...LOL. It's all about the delivery and you've got it! BTW...welcome to Tennessee!

mileage please

Yup...sorry. 98K miles on the van and will be first fluid change. We bought it with 24K. No problems or codes.

It's good to do those changes on your tranny as you said.

It's important on Toyota Transmissions to use their own recommended fluids because they require it and other brands can damage the tranny.

Toyota markets their own automatic transmission fluids under the Toyota brand name. Toyota does not license their automatic transmission fluid specifications to companies who wish to manufacture the fluid and sell it under their own brand names. Toyota dealerships and online retailers sell the Toyota branded fluids today. If the official Toyota logo is not found on the container, the fluid may not be Toyota approved and the fluid cannot be guaranteed to meet Toyota's specifications.

As for Motor Oil...well that's a different story. You can use whatever brand that you like as long as it is the right oil weight for the Sienna. 0W-20 is a synthetic oil that has to be used for your 2015 Sienna. F.Y.I. Toyota does not make their own motor oil and they buy their oil from Mobil. So Mobil motor Oil and Toyota motor oil are the same thing.
