Trans cooler line self-heal??

Hey Scotty! Huge fan, love your content 👍 I have a 2010 gmc sierra 1500 with the 4.8l and 4l60 trans. It has 244,300 miles (Maine miles..) original engine and tranny. It was a fleet vehicle for delivery and sales, well maintained by my employer. Always serviced regularly and any noise or fault was repaired immediately. I recently replace the trans cooler lines and on initial start up I noticed a small leak from where the lines go in the tranny. Frustrated I took it for a spin, about 4 miles and to my surprise no more leak. It's 3 days later and still no leak. I'm no mechanic but could it be driving it increased the pressure and "set" the lines? I visually inspected to make sure each clip was visible behind the flange of the line. Thank you for any insight you might offer!

Well it's possible but pressure on a leak like that typically creates a bigger leak.

Make sure the fluid isn't being 'blown away' as you drive, it might still be leaking. Best clean that area good (spray  brake cleaner) and make sure the leak isn't being masked by the driving. Definitely keep an eye on it for a while until your confident it's no longer an issue.

yes, just like air line or most other quick-connects, fluid pressure provides the clamping force to make the seal.

if you pushed the line inwards you'll probably see it leak a bit again.
