Scotty, big fan of yours for many years and love your videos. After watching your 2015 Red Sienna trans fluid you did on your son's van i feel I can do it as you showed it.

I have the same 2015 sienna XLE with 62K miles automatic, and also a 2011 camry xle 103K miles automatic. The the dealer tells me I don't need trans fluid drain. However after watching your video I feel I can do it myself. Unfortunately, I keep reading about engine temperature to be at the correct range to change the fluid and measure the correct level after refilling. My only guess is that repair shops don't have the luxury to keep a car overnight because they need to fix and move the car out to fix more cars. But I can keep my car overnight.

I believe your method makes perfect sense, replace what came out. Since I have the van at home I can make the trans fluid change when the vehicle is not hot and fluid same room temperature than the new fluid.

Do you think I should worry about engine temp?

Do you think I should drop the pan and replace the filter?

Since the 2011 camry has 103K miles and I have been the only owner but never have changed the trans fluid and took great care of the car, do you think I would harm by draining the fluid as in your video? I have been asking the dealer when I need to replace the fluid since a few years but same answer that i don't need to change the fluid.

My mother has a 2006 Sienna LE automatic we bought 3 years ago with 114k, is this another candidate for trans fluid drain? we bought it with 106K and it runs great but don't know if the fluid was ever replaced. Mom does not drive too many miles.

If I do the trans drain as in your video 3 times between driving the vehicle for one month between changes would that be good for the trans? or I should wait more time before attempting your trasn replacement procedure?

Thank you so much for answering my question. By trade I am a civil engineer but I try to do my own car repair as much as i can and don't get taken to the cleaners. You did teach me how to replace car brakes, and i have not gone to a shop in years for brakes. Thank you and I am a huge fan. I am also in the military.

Should I change the transmission fluid and filter?

2015 Toyota Sienna: yes. Drain, refill and no flush.

2011 Toyota Camry: you can still change the fluid and filter at that mileage.

2006 Toyota Sienna: check the color of the fluid before changing. If it still looks ok, change it now before it's too late.

Thank you for your feedback, greatly appreciated. For 2015 Sienna do drain and refill with cold engine what comes out I put back in, then for 2011 I should do drain and filter, again what comes out goes back in, then 2006 Sienna check fluid and do same procedure but not filter?
Thank you for any feedback.

Yes. You should drain the transmission fluid and change the transmission filter for all. Also, why did you downvote me?

Man thank you for your comment, I did not know what those arrows meant so I did not mean to down vote you. First time in the website, I will give you 10 ups for all your help. Honestly thank you for your comment.

My only concern is putting the correct amount of trans fluid. In my head if the vehicle is cold and trans fluid is at room temperature then putting the same amount that was drained back into the transmission is all I need and won't cause damage to any of the transmissions. I just want to make sure I don't worry about trans fluid temperature. Again thank you!
