2014 Forester vs 2013 Silverado vs 2019 Mazda 3

Hey Scotty, I'm in the market for a new used car from a dealership and I've narrowed down my search to three. a 14 Subaru Forester with 104k miles in a manual transmission for $14k, a 13 Silverado 1500 4wd with the 5.3 at $23k with 108k miles, and a 19 Mazda 3 hatch with 4k miles for $23k. Which do you think is the best deal, as long as everything checks out alright, and which should last the longest theoretically? Also, I live in Ohio if that means anything towards your judgement. Thank you for your time.

Clarification: The 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 5.3L NA V8 and the 2019 Mazda 3 2.5L NA I4 both have cylinder deactivation.

Do you need a truck? SUV? Hatchback?

What are your requirements from this vehicle?

Decide what you want (based on your needs) and how much you are willing to spend. Then you can better choose a good one. I would personally stick to Toyota or Honda.

Well being low mileage the Mazda would last the longest but me I'd get a Toyota the Mazdas are a lot better than they used to be

I would choose none of them.  You didn’t state the engine in the 2014 Forester that you are looking at, but some of the 2014 Subaru Forester with the 2.5L naturally aspirated H4 (4 cylinder Boxer) engine were prone to oil consumption.   As for the 2013 Chevrolet Silverado and 2019 Mazda 3 hatch, both have cylinder deactivation as standard on their engines which can potentially wear out/damage the engine over time.  I consider it a dealbreaker.  Now, if you look at the 2019  Mazda 3 sedan the cylinder deactivation is an option, however, on the Select and Preferred Package, but standard on the Premium Package.
