Hey Scotty,
I have a 2004 Volvo V50 2.4litre petrol semi automatic with 106,000 miles.
When accelerating, the engine vibrates and I can feel it through the gas pedal. Its fine whilst idling and when at cruising speed, but as soon as I give it power, the vibrations return. Would this be an issue with the suspension or engine mounts, or is this an issue with the ignition system, driveshafts or a balancing problem?
Semi automatic? Please elaborate on what exact gearbox it is.
(And if you know, does it have a clutch or a torque converter
I’m assuming we’re talking about a Toyota 5 speed automatic gearbox.
More specific would be helpful like Dan said.
140 hp 2.4 I5, or 168hp 2.4i I5?
@dan , It took a while to dig this up but I believe it is a Geartronic design made by AISIN.
The thing is, that year had an option of 5 speed AISIN or 6 speed AISIN, and both are geartronic designs.

Transmissions are:
5-speed Aisin AW55-50 automatic
6-speed Aisin TF-80SC automatic
But since its an "AISIN AW" product as what Wikipedia calls it, I assume its the 5 speed Aisin.
Yeah but I’d love to know if that’s the quality 5 speed or the terrible 6 speed. The diagnosis depends on that 👀
I mean the TG-80SC is such a poorly built transmission I saw them almost weld the torque converter to case, I’ve seen them full of metal dust cause the filter in the size of a match box… they usually last 140,000 miles and at best not much longer…
you probably herd of Aisin transmissions failing on Volvo before…
Pray that it's a bad engine monitor transmission mount but those Volvo transmissions often go bad in the vibration is internal which would mean it needs rebuilding probably amount is cracked or broken
