I have a 2011 Chevy Malibu Lt 2.4L with 180,000 miles. It was bought from an auto shop that sells cars.. So about 6 months ago, I got a code that said I needed to replace the throttle body. I did that and my car wasn't reading it correctly. The old one was cleaned and sat for a couple days, so I put the old one back in and I havent had a problem until now. I've got the same messages coming up, (traction control, esc off, and the car is shaking pretty hard.) I got codes saying cylinder 3 misfire detected and injector circuit/open cylinder 3, but no throttle body this time. I changed 2-4 coil packs and spark plugs, didn't change the 1st one because that seemed to be recently changed. I bought the throttle body but I don't want to install it until I know for sure that is the problem because it is pricey. Should I put in the new throttle body or?...
The code is telling you that you have a Cylinder 3 Injector Circuit Malfunction.
You have to address that. A problem in the #3 cylinder's fuel injector or its wiring is causing the misfire.
Changing ignition circuit parts (plugs/wires/coils) won't fix it.
Look online for videos on how to test the fuel injector and the power wire and ground signal wire going to it
Thanks, I will look into that today!
I'm not aware of any "replace throttle body" codes. What did it actually say?
Check the FAQ about your misfire.
"Cylinder 3 misfire detected", "injector circuit/open cylinder", and also "02 sensor signal stuck lean bank 1 sensor 2."
