What do you think about those second generation Chrysler Sebrings?

My girlfriend has one, and recently the battery died. She got it second hand with 72k miles on it, put 5k miles on the car in 9 months, and had relatively not many issues prior, but now the battery is dead. Is this an easy car to work on in general?

It's not a good car. It has engine sludge buildup issues, electrical issues (if there's a Chrysler out there which doesn't eventually have electrical issues I haven't seen it), transmission issues, and it's a hard car to work on.

For example, just to replace the battery you have to jack up the car, remove the wheel, and remove a front section of the inner fender liner to get to the battery.

My advice is to stay away from Chrysler vehicles just because of their electrical issues alone. Not to mention the other issues with the Sebring.

But your girlfriend owns one so now it falls onto you to keep it running.

Maybe join one of the Sebring Forums. There won't be anything that happens to your girlfriend's Sebring that hasn't happened to somebody else's Sebring and you can pick up a lot of useful information there.

Coupe? Sedan? Convertible?

Which engine? How many cylinders?

Which transmission? How many gears?

The Sebring name was used on two different platforms with a variety of engines and transmissions.  Just trying to narrow it down.
