Alrighty so first thanks to all who replied on my previous post regarding my wheel bearing situation on my 2001 jaguar s type 3.0 but now i have a follow up question.
So i had the mechanics do the job and replaced both rear wheel bearing assembly however now i hear a loud humming noise from the passenger rear tire and it drowns out most of the noise when driving. I had an alignment done on all 4 tires and found they needed it but after i drove off with it it still has that noise. When im doing any kind of driving regardless of the angles only one side does the noise go away and its when im either turning right or when theres a curve and im going to the right.
The noise wasnt present before i had it serviced. only after did i notice the humming im not sure whats wrong. I am aware as they did inform me that the rear tie rods both inner and outer need to be replaced as well as the rear sway bar links as the rubber is shot. Could that be the issue with the noise? Or when they did the job with the wheel bearings did they potentially make a mistake or rather did damage occur during the time i still drove the vehicle up intill i had it worked on?
God bless if you guys can shed any light as this is still my only car and currently i cant get my hands on any other car for the time being
We got it sorted thank you guys. Yes so what appears to have happened was the nut ( im not sure exactly what its called) or the hub nut that gets tightened was somehow backwards where the ridges was inside the assembly rather than facing outward therefore creating that noise. One of the other mechanics flipped it over tightened it and eliminated the noise altogether
Well done. Thank you for posting back with the fix.
Well the first thing I would do would be to move the tires around and if the noise and moves it's the tire or rim that's bent or warped
If not that and they did replace the wheel bearings back then they might have done a bad job and if they put them in too tight or too loose you're going to get noise
Thank you very much scotty im on my way back to the repair shop to get it fixed. If they did indeed do a bad job they should be able to fix it without any issues? Paying again would be a big pain in the rear

It depends how honest they are in owning up to their mistakes. If it is their fault and they try to weasel out of it you may need to put the gorilla suit on.
Are you 100% sure it’s from the rear and not one of the front wheel bearings?
How old are your tyres?
I am aware as they did inform me that the rear tie rods both inner and outer need to be replaced
The rear end doesn't have tie rods, the rear wheels don't turn side to side, they just roll. Tie rods push and pull on the wheel at a distance from the center to angle them. They're connected to the rack and pinion or the center link/ idler arm, etc.
Sway bar links clunk, etc. when they go bad. They don't produce a constant humming sound. They're most obvious when you make tighter turns, they keep the car from having unacceptable body roll and they generally clunk/ knock in turns when the bushings fail. They'll also make noises going over uneven surfaces.
I'd definitely check your tires as @itwt suggested. My girlfriend's 2017 Mustang made humming noises in the rear end that I thought was a wheel bearing. She was close to needing new tires, so we put those on before I tore anything apart, and that fixed the noise. They could have also botched the bearing job.
