The Xtool D7 scan tool seems like a good buy. Have you reviewed this or are you planning to look at in the near future?
See my write up below on what to get: if you are going to spend that kind of money I would look at more reputable, true and tried brands. Also, at those price points you should only buy from the brand’s authorized dealers if you care about authenticity (lots of counterfeit or inferior clones out there and Amazon is NOT always an authorized dealer), warranty, software updates (to accommodate more features or fix bugs), service/support afterwards.

I just recently purchased an XTool D8 BT version. For the most part I like it. 2 questions I have about it. 1, I know you can record live data and play it back later. Was wondering unless I'm missing some setting, does anyone know if you can play back data in graph mode say like when you are looking at it live and graphing how the o2 sensors are working. Can't seem to find that option. And 2, would the Autel Maxipro 808 which I found on Amazon about give or take $20 less be a better scan tool.
Cannot recommend. Xtool used to have a three month warranty. Then they went to 2 months and now one month. Why do you think? I think they are dumping defective scanners in the USA. I bought my D7 in the middle of last winter and I did not have access to multiple vehicles for testing. It was below zero degrees and I dont have a heated garage and only one vehicle. The unit powered up and updated nicely and came in a handsome case and was a nice good looking well built tablet. The problem came late when warm weather came and I had three vehicles to scan. The Xtool does not communicate with any of the vehicles and only produces communication ERROR messages.
Other scanners work fine but not my D7. I got one of the many untested lemons and there are a lot of them from what Ive read. THey dont test their own scanners and rely on buyers to test. The ones that work are good but you are taking real gamble when you buy a 400 dollar paperweight from Xtool. I'm currently in a American Express dispute with ebay and xtool and its not going well. Amex doesnt help much with disputes either so if yo get any Chinese scanner you better get testing immediately on multiple vehicles and fast. Ebay will usually enforce a fast defective return but you better get buyers insurance if you deal with Xtool.
@xtoolsucks did you buy the scanner from a reputable dealer of the Xtools? I believe Xtools sells it themselves on Amazon, last I checked.
.
I never recommend anyone to buy an expensive piece of electronics from an unauthorized source due to all the issues you cite.
@daywalker It came from their official ebay site
@daywalker It came from their official ebay site. After selling the pieces for a song, it turned out the VGA cable was bad. Proprietary VGA cable with no way to replace.
In the top right corner of this web page, click on "Tools."
This post from @daywalker is pretty comprehensive:

I recently was able to pick up an Innova 5610 from a Pawn Shop for 200$, I did test it before purchasing it.
Take a look at the XTool D7, toward the top of that range. It has many bidirectional functions, at a relatively low price point.
It is a pretty good scan tool I've been testing one out and that price range it does quite a bit. Just realized all those particular scan tools will promise more than they do on every single car and a lot of times they'll have disclaimer that says these features don't work on all cars check yours to see if it works
I actually purchased the xtool D8 model ($700). Before getting this, all I had ever used is a basic scan tool I got 10 years ago. I sent it back. I was not impressed. I'm still thinking about finding a better brand name bidirectional scanner.
I have looked at this product and was considering it. I look at all products before making a final decision.
I am looking for a mid-range scan tool that is bidirectional, will read the true odometer, and ECUs. The Xtool D7 looks like that tool. Would you suggest another in that price range? I did look at Scotty's garage on amazon.
I live in the USA, but I want a scan tool for Toyota, Honda and Suzuki cars with live data and free updates. What would you recommend?
I live in Ohio. I want to buy a scan tool for Toyota, Honda Suzuki cars and SUV'S. I want one with live data and free updates. I was looking at innova 5610, but some people say that it doesn't support Toyota very well. What would you recommend in the $200 to $500. dollar range?
Thanks, Dennis-
What are your opinions on this scanner?
It's a decent scanner I was just using one today x tool is a up-and-coming Chinese manufacturer
Xtool does not test their scanners and they dont honor warranty. They send out a lot of defects and you can forget about any returns. You get a lemon you are stuck with it.

There is/was no cuxtomer service for me. What do you expect from China?
You're responding to a topic that was posted 3 years ago. You might want to post a new topic instead with a title like "My experience with Xtool" providing updated information.
Thanks
I am impressed too, thanks all
What is your opinion on the Xtool D8 scanner tool?

Scotty,
You used an EXTOOL scanner in one of your videos. I'm a high end DIYer for family and friends.
Is Extool Brand scanners worth the money and what do you think about the Extool A80 Pro or Extool D8?
Thanks.
Please use the search before posting a new question. Thanks.

I have the D7, and love it. It does what I need. If you need a little more the D8 looks to be just that much better. Check out the car care nut on YT. he reviews xtool scanner.
I was close to buying the Xtool D8 scanner when I ran across the Xtool A30M. I am intrigued by the A30M especially at its price point. If I acquired one I would use it with a tablet because of the screen size. Essentially, I would like opinions on which to the two scanners should I buy?
thanks
If you are a DIYer, get the A30M.
I was trying to do the sas reset on a 08 dodge charger rt and it won't work like I do the car selection and it won't run the test or whatever it doesn't ask me to turn the steering wheel or anything I was getting a c123f steering angle sensor comparative performance any help would be great for diagnosis of the code or anything would be great thanks in advance
Scotty, what do you think of the xtool d9 pro for 2018 rav4?
