| Hi Scotty! I just purchased a 2019 Lexus gx460 with 52,249 miles on it, and I love it. I have fallen down the rabbit hole regarding whether or not I have to use premium gas. After countless forums, articles, and YouTube videos I’ve come to you for (hopefully) a definitive answer, as I’ve found a lot of info on both sides of this discussion. I am not auto-mechanically inclined so don’t know enough to form a good basis for judgement. | Hi Scotty, I've been a loyal viewer for 10 years and love your channel! I have a 2020 Lexus gx460 with 3,800 miles that I purchased new. It was manufactured in 03/2020 when the Tahara plant had shut down due to COVID. At approximately 1,250 miles, the transmission/driveline would clunk during low-speed maneuvers and when shifting from reverse to drive. The dealership replaced the driveshaft under a Technical Service Bulletin. I'm now noticing rough shifting between 10-50 mph in stop and go highway driving. | Scotty, why do many people buy the lexus gx460 over the rx350? They get worse gas mpg, cost more to maintain, make nearly the same power, have the same amount of space, and the gx460s are never really even taken off road? | |||||

| I would go 2016-2020 lexus rx350 because it doesn't even have much room inside of it. It is just off road capable and reliable. The rx350 is a better overall suv, gets better mpg, has more working room for maintneance so maintaining it is cheaper, and it gets only a couple horsepower less so it has more get up and go. The lexus gx460 is a great vehicle if you have a lot of money for maintaining such a complex machine(suspension, v8 engine, frame) and it gets only 15mpg and you HAVE to use 93 premium fuel on it. | |||||

| OK, I chime in: I’m not versed on latest gizmos installed on gx460, but this may just provide you the answer: Wait until your car is cold, … open the hood, stand in front of it, take off that “beauty cover” if it has one, place your hand on top of a direct injection fuel pump, and have a buddy start the car. If the noise is coming from that high pressure fuel injection pump, … it’s normal! fwiw. F.S. | |||||

| Hello:I have a 2021 gx460 Luxury with 2100 miles. When I start the car today (cold start 36 degree) I notice there is a knock inside of the car. The car has 4.6L Toyota 1UR-FE engine. Is it normal? | Hello guys. I know this is a apples to oranges comparison. But I have two options. Buying a brand new charger scat pack 6.4 hemi for 40000$$. Or a 2018 Lexus gx460 with 33000 miles for $40000 as well. Both come with warranty. I know FCA vehicles have reliability issues. But it has warranty. Should I get it? I’m conflicted PLEASE HELP.
