| The 2017-2019 Buick LaCrosse and 2018-2020 Buick Regal Sportback GS 3.6L V6 has cylinder deactivation in that engine, and long term can potentially wear out/damage the engine. Due to poor GM quality in general, some of those cylinder deactivation systems can still malfunction even if disabled (can only be disabled via aftermarket only). The GM-designed 9-speed automatic in the Regal GS has had issues in other GM products and that transmission should be considered a deal breaker for any GM product. Aside from that, expect random electrical issues as it ages ... | |||||

| Are you planning on keeping the Buick Encore for a long time and put 100,000-200,000 miles on it (or more)? If so, stay as far away as possible, esp. since GM quality has mostly gone downhill since the early 2000s (even earlier than that). Besides the powertrain, electrical issues will most likely get you at some point and a royal pain to track down and fix. Also, see below: | |||||
| Answer to: Are chrysler better than buick | 22Relevance | 5 years ago | USAFdozerpilot | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Buick is actually decent in reliability out of the GM line up. Chrysler is owned by the Italian and French. That’s not a good combination. If it were me I’d pass on both. If I had to choose I’d buy the Buick. As long as the Buick got a clean bill of health. | |||||
| Answer to: 2019-2020 Buick Tour X Wagon opinions | 22Relevance | 5 years ago | Chuck Tobias | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| That's not really a Buick, it's an Opel with Buick badges. Trouble is that GM sold off Opel to PSA group (Peugeot and Citroen) making that "Buick" wagon something of an orphan in this country. It's anyone's guess what the prospects for parts and service are going to be on that vehicle moving forward. | |||||
| Answer to: GM 3.6L engine opinions | 22Relevance | 3 years ago | Whatchamacallit | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Which models and model years are you asking about? That engine was used in the 2008-2011 Cadillac sedans (both CTS and STS) and was also used in the 2010-2011 Chevrolet Camaro, 2010-2011 Buick LaCrosse, 2009-2017 Chevrolet Traverse, 2009-2016 GMC Acadia, and 2009-2017 Buick Enclave. I cannot recommend any of those vehicles especially beyond 100,000 miles. Anyways, the LLT 3.6L V6 (primarily from 2008 to 2012) still had timing chain issues; after 2012, the issue was less pronounced but not completely eliminated. While GM design is to blame, but also lac ... | |||||

| Buick/GM wheels aligned but still pulls badly | 21Relevance | 5 years ago | FutureSoCalEscapee | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| 2006 Buick LaCrosse with 23k has had multiple alignments and the car still pulls to the side (semi-hard to the right, in this case). Been doing that for years. What's up with that? I see that it was a common problem but nobody ever mentioned a solution. The car has been inspected, nothing else seems to be wrong with it. All of the specs are in the green except "caster" which is 2.5 (L) & 2.6 (R) degrees (range should be 2.7+) but Firestone says there's no caster adjustment possible. Could this pull also impact gas mileage by 30%? BTW: This is my ... | |||||
| Exchange a Buick Allure for a Lexus IS250 | 21Relevance | 5 years ago | Christianaucoin | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hi Scotty, i currently have a 2007 Buick Allure ( LaCrosse in us ), it has 113000 km on it. 3,8 l V6, I maintain it very well, I had it for 2 years, no major problem with it, in good shape. I would have the chance to buy a Lexus IS 250 2008 for 6500$, but it has 220000 km. Do you think it’s a good upgrade or would I be a fool to exchange a car that has 112000 km to one that has double the mileage ? | |||||

I took the insurance payout less salvage fee and had the car repaired for $1000 less than they gave me.I have personally been driving the car since 2017 to and from work.
