hello so I have a 2003 Ford mustang Mach 1. so when I take the car out for a drive on start up u you know white smoke will come out because of condensation. when it’s warm and I’m driving the car I see no white smoke. but when I turn off the car and wait a little bit start it back up there will be a little cloud of white smoke but when I rev the car up more of it will come out but then stop completely. it’s driving me crazy I thought it was a blown Head gasket but idk bc The oil is not milky and I see nothing mixed in the coolant. she drives fine but it’s only when I turn it off and wait a little bit but sometimes it doesn’t even do that at all it’s only like here and there. plz help

Before doing anything like adding additives to the coolant get a head gasket test kit: it basically is a kit with blue fluid in a clear container that you put on top of the fill cap. If the fluid turns yellow while you run the engine it is because it is detecting exhaust gases in the coolant.

after you figure out the cause and fix it I also recommend installing one of those kits that help recirculate coolant from the back of the driver side head. The passenger side head has the heater core that helps it. The left head on the other hand has a dead end. This is a design flaw from Ford on the 32 valve engines that cause the majority of pinging noises in the best case scenario, and blown head gaskets to total engine failure in the worst case scenario.

I don't know how many miles you have, but if you are getting white smoke after driving for a while and burning off condensation, it could be a head gasket problem.

It wouldn't hurt to try putting some head gasket sealer in to see if the smoke stops.

I will say this though: if it has been driven hard consistently at high RPMs, those 32V V8's will blow gaskets. I have replaced more than a few.
