1996 ford ranger

So yesterday I was on my way to work and my ford ranger which is a manual shift was shifting good....then I noticed I would give it gas and it wouldn't go as fast as I wanted it to....then it wouldn't pull at all..so I pulled over on side of road...and kept pumping clutch for 30 min off and on...and finally it came into it slowly moving even tho I was giving it way more gas it was slow....now today I went out checked clutch fluid it is full....took it down road it will shift....but wont go as fast as I want it to...like its not pulling right as if someone would have the clutch pedal pushed down slightly....motor revs high when I give it gas it just wont get the speed up...I pumped the clutch and the fluid never fluctuated....so is this a clutch master cylinder problem or something else..thanks

didn't you put it into reverse at 60 mph just a few days ago?


This Jake the snake moron keeps posting the same stuff under different vehicles. First he said it was an '88 then an '86 and now it's a '96. He's gotten plenty of answers but apparently doesn't like any of them. Stop playing his game.

Your clutch is slipping.


What would it take to fix it....have to take out trans and all that?? Feels like my clutch pedal feels different than what it did....used to I could have it pushed half way down to start it....now I have to hold it to the floor to start it


You have to figure out what's causing it
.
Maybe remove the rubber inspection plug on the bell housing (driver's side) and look to see if the clutch release bearing is binding on the shaft and not allowing the clutch to disengage
.
The old slave cylinders didn't have a dust boot

So the bellhousing is a hot place with all kinds of abrasive dust shedding from the clutch friction plates
.
It's possible that the release bearing is getting bound up and not allowing the clutch to disengage completely
.
You could try spraying some WD-40 on that area under the spring and working the clutch pedal Up and Down to see if you can free it up
.
Just don't go crazy. You don't want WD-40 getting on the clutch disc or the pressure plate
