2000 Toyota Land Cruiser sad story

Scotty I have a 2000 Land Cruiser 180k. Bought it off a friend a few months ago. He had paperwork for a timing belt change about 15k prior. Long story short the belt developed a small whip that got caught between the cam pulley and rotated it about 90 degrees out of step. Ran like 💩 for a moment or two after it happened and then died. Truck is solid! Worth fixing currently busted engine or worth swapping another one in? Feel like an doing an engine swap haha! I’m local 🤣

It could be worth it...but ask around, get some estimates. An engine swap can be a DIY job if you have a lot of mechanical skill, but you'll need a few special tools to do it and definitely some help.

if you were doing it yourself, then I'd say maybe. But hiring it out is going to cost an arm & leg. Price it out and see for yourself if it's worth it.

I would swap the engine. Rebuilding that engine is not worth it. Find a wrecked car from junkyard that has a solid engine.
