- Hello!
I have a 2004 Camry with 283 (almost 284),000 miles on it, Occasionally It takes 3-5 seconds to start and normally it never takes that long to start, recently I had a time where I started my car but it wouldn't crank, so I knocked on the starter and started again and have been starting just fine but sometimes it takes 3-5 seconds to start, I was gonna get a new starter but should I wait until It doesn't crank again or should I get a new starter as soon as possible? Will or how will it ruin the engine?
It's not that hard of a job to replace but I would like to leave it until it doesn't start again which didn't happen yet so far. I've kinda noticed too that I needed a new starter when I first got the car.
Let me know what your thoughts are
Thanks guys
I think you should change it out immediately. One day it is not going to start and you might be in a location where you need a tow and the starter that is immediately available might not be the one you want and it might have an inflated price. {black}

Prevention is always the cheaper, less stressful option.
Yeah I get a new starter right away if I get stranded eventually it won't start and they're not that expensive at discount auto parts stores they only have two bolts holding them on
Wow! Getting word from the big man I've always wanted to hear from you! Amazing! Thank you! I'll get that new starter as soon as my next
paycheck...Thanks Scotty 🙂 God bless
