2005 Chevy 1500 LT. Do these vehicles have cabin air filters or not? This mystery is not solved anywhere on the internet. Be the first, please! Thank you very much and keep saving us money.
If it has one, it'll be on the passenger side behind the glove box.
The owner's manual describes all of your vehicle's features, including cabin air filter, if it has one.
I found a you tube video by filterheads.com showing the cabin air filter replacement for a 2001 Silverado 1500, but for some reason I cannot get it to copy and paste here. However in the comment section below the video there is a post by filterheads which says, "Starting in 2003, Chevy, GMC, Cadillac and Ford dropped the option for their trucks and SUVs to have cabin filters."
I went down this rabbit hole with my 04 Sierra 1500. Some time prior to my truck year, they stopped putting cabin air filters in the trucks as a way to cut costs, however the housing for the cabin air filter is still there under the passenger side foot area, there's just no filter installed inside it, nor is there a trapdoor to allow you to access it. I used a knife and a blowtorch to heat the knife until it was red hot, and then I cut through the plastic and installed my own trapdoor and filter. It works very good, just be aware it will take away a little bit of your air power when you have the A/C or heat on. You can buy retrofit kits online, and they aren't very expensive, here's a link to the one I used, you may be able to find it cheaper somewhere else.

I've never had a need a for one.
If I encounter dust or something I just switch to recirculation or shut it off.
