Stalling and hesitation on cold start

I have a 2006 Toyota Corolla LE Automatic transmission. It has a code #P0741 which I think is due to torque convertor issue. The code comes on when I drive on the freeway. The code resets and goes away after few days.

The issue I have is

On cold engine starts I am able to reverse the car out of the garage but on random occasions the car either

Stalls immediately when I shift to drive, I start again and shift to drive and it has no issues
Or
It drives but it shakes/vibrates/hesitates I press hard on the gas peddle and the issue goes away after few seconds

I have changed the following on the car

Throttle body
MAF sensor
Entire fuel pump assembly
fuel injectors
spark plugs
Transmission shift solenoid
pvc valve
vvt solenoid
Air filter

But the issue still remains. Is this issue related to torque convertor or something else? I am at the wits end.

Thank you.

Torque converter clutch, actually

Most likely. If the TC clutch engages when it shouldn't, it shakes and stalls the engine.

This could be an electrical problem (solenoid), or hydraulic/mechanical problem inside the transmission. (valves etc.)

Did you check if the trans fluid is at the correct level? Have you been changing the trans fluid every 50k?

If not then trans could be worn out.

A shop specializing in transmissions can diagnose the problem for you and give a recommendation.

With the parts cannon approach you just end up buying a whole bunch of parts you don't need and potentially making things worse.

It was trying to tell you the problem. This is why you don't ignore codes and change random parts.

Did any of those parts test as bad before you replaced them or was this just loading up the parts cannon? Were critical parts such as throttle body, sensors, and fuel pump OEM, or at least manufactured by OEM suppliers and sourced from a trustworthy vendor (not eBay or Amazon)?

Have you checked live data for things like fuel trims and sensor outputs?

You did not mention mileage, which is one of the items asked for in the posting instructions. Given the age of the car a compression test to verify internal engine condition would probably be a good idea.

@chucktobias I didn't, you have given me some good pointers to check for. The car has 214000 miles.

Check that stuff out and let us know how you make out. Try to avoid replacing parts without diagnosing first whether they are bad, otherwise you can just wind up spending a lot of money fruitlessly.
