How reliable is the 2007-2017 ford expedition? This vehicle was produced for quite a while so I would expect the fixed any issues. How reliable would y'all say it is?
Okay, 2007-2014 because I want a v8 one. Didn't know they only had V6s in the 2015-2017 ones.
The v6 is actually worse they have engine problems and the twin turbo on it with GDI generally makes them wear out faster
Have you seen any phaser issues on the V8s?

Mostly paint/cosmetic stuff but there are also some years where owners report powertrain or fuel system issues I would do research on specific years. This site uses owner reported issues.
No lifter issues? Isn't this the 3 valve engine?
Take a look at that link for yourself you should be able to find different problem areas and specific problems. In this case, click on a year and and then "engine".
From 2006-2014 the Ford Expedition came with the 5.4L Triton 24V V8 (3-valve), one of the worst engines by Ford. I’d stay as far away as possible from that engine..

@daywalker
Thanks I don't know that much about Expeditions but I know the 5.4 was a catasrophe in the F-150 I would recommend you stay away from this vehicle then.
This sucks. I don't think there are any other long wheelbase full sized SUV's out there. The Suburban and the Expedition EL of this time both have lifter issues. Anyone know of any other long wheelbase full sized SUV's that are in the United States?
Toyota Sequoia is your best bet.
However on CarComplaints.com on the 2009 model of the Expediton there are very few issues, and none of them had to do with lifters.
Keep in mind they sold practically no Expeditions in 2009 the sales were down by a significant margin that is most likely why. Have you consider the Toyota Sequoia? That is by far your best choise.
I have considered the Sequoia but I am looking for a long wheelbase to carry a lot of stuff and people. I wish they made a long wheelbase Sequoia.
(sample year of 2008) The Sequoia has 3 more inches of wheelbase than the Expedition, is only 1 inch shorter, and is 1 inch wider.
Pretty reliable as far as the drivetrain goes, but don't expect all the bells and whistles to still work.
How reliable is the 2015-2017 Ford Expedition with the 3.5 Turbo V6? I know the pre facelift had the horrible 3 valve 5.4 v8, is the v6 any better?
The Expedition only comes with the 3.5 V6 in those years and no thank you too small of an engine. The ones before had the 5.4, which was a horrendous engine as well. The older Explorer 4.6 was decent.
My advice, get a Sequoia.
No car is free of problems. I have a 2007 expedition with 300k and it still runs basically like new and the only major problem I know of is the sparks. Original design caused the sparkplugs to break in the motor and be a headache to remove. But once you replace all the old sparks with the new reinforced model, you are all good. It's basically an F150.
