Recently i got a civic hybrid. At first I got like 25 mpg. I changed the engine oil, CVT fluid, all the filters, tires have the right pressure and what really helped, i cleaned the maf sensor. I'm getting 31mpg now but its still pretty low. The car has 75k miles on it and a pretty fresh ima battery from 2015 and it drove like 22k miles since then. So what else can I check for better mpg? I'm thinking about spark plugs and serpentine belt. And i'll clean throttle body today, btw. can i use MAF cleaner for the throttle body?
i cleaned the throttle body and re-learned idle rpm and now im getting 40mpg
Have a mechanic check the hybrid system. That much of a difference might relate to an issue with the hybrid system.
Well many things can do it but for my experience if they put in a remanufactured battery that's often the problem because the remanufactured batteries do not last long there's many different cells and all they do is replace a few of the bad ones then the old ones are still 15-year-old ones from the original battery. Of course you want to make sure the engines working correctly any mechanic can put his gauges on and analyze the data but for my experience it's often the battery just doesn't have enough power so it doesn't really help but getting better gas mileage
It was changed at a honda dealer on warranty, they put a complete new battery in.
