Engine shakes

so i bought a 2011 toyota camry xle 2.5 liter about a month ago, and ive had nothing but trouble with the thing. there were no error codes when i got it but the day after i got it the spring in the camshaft adjuster snapped. as soon as i fixed that the battery and alternator went out, about a week after i fixed those it started dying at idle (turns out the throttle body had so much carbon buildup it almost looked like sludge). now the engine seems to run smooth for the most part, but when its idling it will give a light shake every now and then, and when im driving, as i step on the brakes, the engines rpm's rev up for a second before going down.

basically what im wondering is would 505 cro and the 505 injector cleaner be a good idea to put in? like if the throttle body was full of carbon will the engine be as well? and does anybody know what the little rev the car gives when i step on the brakes is about? also what is the occasional shake about? is that normal?

thanks in advance, i had a 2001 camry before this, but the thing ran smooth as silk and never gave me a single problem in the 5 years i owned it, so this new car is giving me anxiety.

(ps... the car is California emissions if that makes a difference)

You've got a lot of issues. Sounds like this car was very poorly maintained. We always tell people (and Scotty in his videos): Make sure you have a mechanic inspect a vehicle BEFORE you buy it.

would 505 cro and the 505 injector cleaner be a good idea to put in?

On this car, yes

certain parts, like the intake, MAF sensor and probably EGR. The valves and cylinders get washed by fuel so shouldn't be so bad.

the little rev the car gives when i step on the brakes is about?

possibly air leak in brake booster

nope. misfire maybe. You need to run a diagnostic scan.

ya know, funny story, i actually bought the car FROM a mechanic. HE said it was good, there were no error codes, engine sounded smooth, it ran smooth as butter when i test drove it, it only had 140,000 miles on it, and it was 3600 dollars. every single box was ticked, so i snapped up a deal like that. i thought since the guy selling it was a mechanic, it was a safe bet. guess im the fool

There is a reason why someone is selling their car. The mechanic definitely fooled you. But hey we all learn from our mistakes. I got fooled when I bought my first car which was an 06 Mitsubishi Lancer. Back then I didn't know too much about cars and I learned my lesson and will only buy Toyotas.

haha they say never never buy a car from a mechanic. If he isn't fixing it, then what are the chances you will?
