a 2011 Nissan Xterra, automatic trans. 170,000 miles. 4wd
so, a week ago I was driving back from Penn State university and every brake light indicator on my dash came on. Four in total. I’d show you a picture but I don’t think I can upload pictures on here. Anyway, this happened when I was driving. I checked the brake fluid, the reservoir was about half full.
what’s happening is when the truck is cold, I can drive to work in the morning and do not have an issue. That’s about a 13 mile drive. When I start my truck up again, the lights are off. They come on after I hit roughly 5 mph. They come on the same time that my automatic door locks engage.
also, I have an Amp reader in my lighter plug, And I put a brand new battery in about six months ago. The reader shows the amps bouncing around between 12.9 and as high as 14.2. It’s been suggested the alternator might be the problem, but it seems pretty inconsistent if that’s the case. I don’t know, obviously, I’m not a mechanic, and although I have a code reader, there are no codes being thrown for this. So, hopefully you can shed some light on what might be happening. I would be absolutely grateful.
thanks!
Andy
That's volts, not amps.
You can upload the images in a sharing webite (e.g. https://imgur.com/) and share the link here.
A picture would help a lot in this case of what lights are coming on. And any codes triggered at all would help as well of not in engine it has to be throwing a code in some system. Possibly abs
Here’s a picture On Instagram, I hope this works. Thanks
I would take a closer look at your wheel speed sensors
Great. That might be the problem. OK, much appreciated. Thank you
