Should I buy this Passat

I know I know, this is my third post about a vehicle. I am just being really skeptikal on the next vehicle I get with what I am dealing with right now and want to make sure I get a car that can last me hopefully 10 years.

That being said, this car is a 2014 Volkswagen Passat with a TDI. Ive heard good things about TDI motors, other than the costly repairs because of it being a diesel lol. It is at a car lot sadly but theres not many decent vehicles for sale around me at the moment that is not at a car lot. Do yall think this would be a good buy? I imagine I could try to get them down off of that price a little bit mainly because of the body damage

That's a Chinese spec car.

The EA189/EA288 diesel might be decent, but the DSG DQ250 trying to handle 320NM of torque ain't.

That DSG does not tolerate aggressive driving habits or infrequent fluid changes - at all.

Also if anything engine / electronics related ever breaks down, and chances are that it will - it's going to be hard to repair.

It's just an expensive underwhelming car, I do not see the value in it.

Have you considered a Mazda6? an Accord? a Camry?

They're all just better cars.

Dan, youre knowledgable about foreign cars clearly. At least a ton more than me. I was looking at a 2013 Accord and someome told me not to but something about the car keeps drawing me back into it. Please look at it and give me your honest thoughts on it

150k miles is a bit too much even for an Accord.
But why are you looking at dealers and lots?
You should be able to find a lower-millage car for that price.
Focus less on prestige and leather, and more in millage and the car being mechanically bulletproof (which the Accord generally is, but at 150k miles? It’s nearing the end of its useful life).

or yet again, from a financial standpoint, putting in a cheap junkyard engine just makes sense - with a swapped engine that Forte / Elantra has another 70k miles left in it (assuming you’ll replace the ATF every 20k-30k, the A6GF1 gearbox doesn’t like dirty oil)
