Scotty, I have a 2018 F-150 XLT 4x4 with the 2.7L Ecoboost that only has 41,000 miles on it. I bought it before i got into watching all your videos and seen that turbos aren't the best idea to have in a big truck, since I'm in this for the long run now, other than regularly changing the oil (I do mine every 3000 miles since I bought the truck) what are other ways to make the turbos last as long as possible? Would getting a bigger aftermarket intercooler from a well known brand help at all? Also that 10 speed transmission has been nothing but problems and the dealership keeps telling me it's normal to shift hard like you're being rear ended. That's definitely not normal.

Well I’d install a catch can, keep changing oil every 3k mi, sparks HAVE to be changed every 60k mi. Yeah the 10 speed…….. ooff not a good situation. Fords going to be of no help. Either live with the jerks and slams or get rid of the truck. All the dealerships will do is re flash which band aids the problem at most. I mean it’s a GM and Ford designed transmission….. RIVAL companies known for horrendous quality and engineering designing a transmission 😬 that’s just not good. The 2.7 eco is a decent motor when it’s maintained well. Hopefully it’s more of a pavement princess for you and you don’t tow heavy with it. Than you’re maintenance bill will really start to balloon up.

I'll keep the spark plugs at 60k in mind. As for Towing, the biggest thing I would be towing with the truck is a small pop up camper or a dual ATV trailer.

@kcobb that 2.7 will handle that pop up fine. The transmission is really you’re biggest issue.

Make sure to keep an eye on the oil catch can level and empty it regularly so as not to blow out your main seals.  Or, just make sure your PCV valve is clean and working.
