I have a 2020 Corolla LE , 46k miles, was "certified" by Toyota at 39k miles 3 months ago, but the warranty has since expired. When the car is in park with or without the A/C on, it runs smooth as butter. When the car is in drive, especially with the brake pressed (i.e. at a traffic light), the car vibrates lightly then starts vibrating quite a bit more for about 5-10 seconds then calms back down. I've pinpointed this to be when the engine fan comes on and the A/C is running at the same time. Engine load from my scan tool goes from ~30% up to ~50% when during the most violent vibrations.
Couple of mechanics have told me this is "normal" and that the system is strained under too much current between the A/C, radiator engine fan, and idle. I've tried MAF cleaner and throttle body cleaner. A/C still blows semi-cold air. Would it be wise to invest in a new alternator or is it normal for 1.8L engines?
Did you get to resolve this issue? I am struggling with the same thing. Maybe it is normal🤷🏻♂️.
Load test the alternator and battery before replacing anything.

No, these alternators usually last for ages.
I have had issues with my Corolla, Although it's getting ancient it also has a ZR-series engine.
The only solution I found is going to N (!) , turn off AC and lights, rev to 4k, hold steady throttle for 45 seconds.
