Hi Scotty! I am asking you because I recently discovered your videos AND you are a Honda Fit fan!
2020 Honda Fit LX manual 6-speed tranny, 141K completely trouble-free miles with synthetic oil changes, car is driven in Texas - some background that may or may not be helpful is:
4 months ago was forced in an emergency situation into deep water on highway, car did NOT stall, no evidence of hydrolock, no water in air filter case, etc. (I know to not drive in deep water but this was an emergency road flood with no time to react, long story)...
BUT 2 months ago during upper teen-twenties cold front, my parking brake froze. This has never happened before even though we have had cold fronts periodically.
First it froze engaged, but the dashboard did not indicate the brake was still on after I disengaged it. I drove it about three miles before I realized the brake hadn't fully let go even though brake lever was DOWN (not up/engaged).
Then the next night, it froze where it wouldn't set (the reverse of the previous day).
After everything thawed out, about a week later, my VSA light was illuminated on the dashboard during a turn that was absolutely secure, no gravel, not a fast turn, no reason for VSA to engage. VSA light did not blink, it just stayed on. Coincidentally or not, the cruise control doesn't work either, seemingly went out at the same time the VSA light started staying lit.
Trusted mobile mechanic has run check on his computer and says all systems pass. He has reset it twice, but the VSA light comes on again a few miles down the road. What would you look at next?
Well I checked the emergency brake system. It could have got rusted and corroded or it could have ruined one of the speed sensors in the wheel. You'd have to check all that first
Thank you! Will do that first. I appreciate your time.
