2021 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon Reliability

Dear Scotty Kilmer, first off I would like to say I really enjoy watching your channel and I respect you and your opinions about cars. I think that you are one of the best mechanics. Now my question is about my 2021 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon that I bought about 2 months ago. Just recently I watched your video last week about it and I have also seen consumer reports say it's one of the top 10 least reliable vehicles. However, I do not have a 3.0L EcoDiseal Gladiator. My mechanic told me to get the 3.6L V6 Pentastar engine that Chrysler made. Because I have a completely different powertrain does this mean my car is unreliable? Also, they say since I have synthetic oil to change it every 10,000 but I am still getting it changed every 5k. I was wondering what your thoughts were on this because my personal mechanic said the gasoline jeeps are better and more reliable. Thank you    - Tiernan

You'll get lots of arguments on this but generally speaking, newer Jeep products are just not well engineered or manufactured, IMO and experience.  I would avoid their vehicles altogether.  More than required oil and filter changes will probably help, but just a little.

Good for you - yeah, stick to every 5k like you have been doing.

I am not sure how long you plan to keep the vehicle but I wouldn’t keep it past the warranty period.  Do a search on our forum for prior posts and responses on the Gladiator.
