A/C doesn't work when it's hot

Hi there,

I have a 2010 Honda Fit with 190,000 KM on it. It's a right hand drive from Japan and I live in a tropical country. The air condition is very temperamental. It usually works but I've noticed that sometimes it won't come at all when the car has been sitting baking in the sun all day. Ironically it always turns on at nights and during the cool seasons. I've taken it to a AC mechanic and they always say that it's the compressor, even though I've changed the compressor already to get the same results (albeit a used compressor, but still...).

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

What are high and low system pressures? The used compressor could certainly be bad, checking pressures will at least let you know if it's pumping.

I still have the original compressor, I just find it interesting I'd have the same problem with a different (albeit used) compressor.

Also, the amount of refrigerant has to be exact to within an ounce or two for the AC to work properly, as Scotty points out in his video today with a 2012 Honda:

Make sense, maybe they put too much in it, and the car sitting in the sun all day cause the fluid to expand and prevent the system from working. It's a theory, but I'll need to find all the requirements, and go to a mechanic to make sure they exactly what's required.
