Hi! I have been trying to fix a Chevrolet Captiva LTZ AWD that had a failed ABS sensor that disabled the traction control, ABS and Hill Descent control. When I scanned for the codes, I had a code for right rear ABS sensor. I replaced the right rear sensor, cleared the DTCs and drove the car and it did not trip the code. After about an hour, however, after an hour or so, when I turned on the car, I got a code for left rear sensor. So, I cleaned the coupler of the sensor and after clearing the DTC again and reading the data stream while driving, the sensor gave the right speed.
Do I have to replace the left rear sensor? Or is it some other problem?
I'm confused. Did you clear the codes after you restored the LR sensor? Did the trouble light come back?
I replaced the RR sensor because I had a code for that. I replaced it and cleared the codes and drove the vehicle for a few times and code code didn't come back. However, When I left the car for about 1hr and came back, I had a code for LR. Upon clearing the code for LR again though, the systems seem happy will all the live data being correct Until you leave the car again for at least an hour.
