I want to buy a honda sedan and I want to know if there are any specific type that have bad transmissions or have engine problems.
The better question is probably: "which Honda sedan is the least reliable," since pretty much all Honda sedans are great cars. I would say the 00-06 Honda Accord with the V6 and automatic transmission is the least reliable, but still a pretty good car. The transmissions on those cars is OK (not great) and they are subject to a multitude of SRS (airbag system) recalls including for the front passenger airbag, driver airbag, as well as several SRS sensors. The engine is also fairly reliably but its just not on part with the bulletproof Honda 2.4 liter.
Avoid the Earthdream engines too.
My mechanic said it would be better to stay away from the 1.5L accord due to the cvt trans. Go with the 2.0 if choosing a new accord.
