How do I know when my clutch is worn out

Big fan of Scotty , recently joined automotive school to expand my knowledge and get into the career ...few questions one do you think it’s worth it if I end up working for somebody ? Or should I look into my own business and learn all the things that come along with that ? Lastly I have a 2000 Honda Accord dx sedan five speed with 251,000 miles I’ve never really owned a own car before So I don’t have another good working manual car to compare it to but from my knowledge on cars it seems to drive OK the clutch seems to be in good condition and everything else seems to be an OK working condition now how would I know if my clutch is worn out or starting to wear out ? I’m asking because it bites pretty high and secondly how would I get a broken tension bolt out of an alternator I broke it trying to change the serpentine belt because it squeaks ...it’s the 12mm nut under the power steering pump ...big fan from Fall River Massachusetts

I cant really say anything about the other questions but as for the clutch... If your clutch is worn out it will start to slip. You will find that your car will not want to accelerate when you press the gas pedal. Your rpms will go way up but your speed wont. Another way of testing it is putting your car in gear, and while holding the brake, let go of the clutch pedal. Your car should stall out. If it stays running your clutch is shot.

I agree with @alban123. As for the bold, try one of those I think they are called Easy Out kits. It can do most broken bolt/screws. Most hardware stores have them. I will leave a link to a product on amazon so you know what I'm talking about....they come in different sizes. Hope this helps and Good Luck. 🙂

put it in 3rd gear from a dead stop and release it to the engagement point if it moves its a goner if it stalls you still a okay

About the broken nut this is where been a mechanic hurts its the WORSE possible thing depending on how far back it broke if you have a good inch or so sticking out get a tension plier get on there tight and try if not there are reverse drill bits that can get the job done there are also extractors that might work ORRR u can try welding
