brake fluid moisture content

A few months ago, I measured the moisture content on my brake fluid. It was ok, about 1%.

A week ago, I had new brake pads installed all around. I noticed my brake fluid looked darker.

I measured it, and it was off the charts. Over 4%.

Is that typical when you have brake pads replaced?

Moisture will tend to collect in the lowest point of the system (calipers). When you replace brake pads you push in the caliper piston(s) which forces fluid back up to the master cylinder, so if you're testing fluid at the master the moisture level can read higher.

I got hi-quality brake pads (akebono) installed first, and then replaced the brake fluid. Now, when my brakes are warmed up, they squeak when I brake. It doesn't happen when the brakes are cool, and doesn't happen when the brakes are first applied, but now at the end of breaking after driving a while, the brakes squeak. What could it be?
