Change All Ignition Coils or Only Faulty One

Hello Mr. Kilmer & Team Scotty!

My wife drives a 2010 Nissan Rogue front wheel drive with 191,000 miles on it, and recently one of her ignition coils went bad.  The local mechanic shop changed all four spark plugs out of caution and the faulty ignition coil, but I have to ask, it is not wise to change the other three ignition coils as well since they must also be worn?  In your video on the topic, you don't mention how to change ignition coils, whether in sets or one-by-one.  Thank you!

Replace the other 3 and keep the old ones. Don't buy the crap aftermarket coils. Get either the OEM or a quality name like DENSO.

If they are easy to access, as they usually are on a 4 cylinder, I would just replace the bad one. The other 3 could last a lot longer.

@oldandy, that is a good point about ease of access any time another goes bad. On the other hand, the one that went bad recently left my wife on an embanked side of the road with the kids who I had to go fetch before dealing with the limping vehicle. If I have the money, I think I may just replace them regardless. I mean, they are the originals, so they've almost got 200,000 miles on them. Not too shabby.

Peace of mind is worth a lot. If you are not on a tight budget by all means replace them now. If you are handy, do it yourself, should be very easy. Use OEM coils.

@oldandy, that's the plan! I ended up getting the same NGK coils as the one my mechanic replaced the bad one with. I don't recall what brand is OE for Nissan Rogues, but I understand NGK is OE-level quality.
