never bought a new car before, but IMO it seems like a new one is the same price as a used one with 20-60k on it. I'm considering a camry TRD or recently started looking at Civic SI. Concern with the honda is Scotty's recommended manual adjusting of valves at about 80k...but also how reliable & long lasting is the Civic's turbo going to be? I am looking for this car to take me well into 2035-2040, and by then I'll be in my late 50s...so I'm not going to be racing these. Concern with the Camry is the ride stiffness, but I want the V6 and it's way cheaper than the XSE model. Thoughts Scotty?
Not a fan of any turbos for longevity.
If you say that the Camry TRD has stiff ride, definitely the Civic ride is stiffer. Get the Camry (non TRD) for the longevity and smoother ride.
Camry will be safer, more reliable and more comfortable on longer drives.
If the TRD is too stiff, it is worth the step up to the XSE. You don't want to have a ride you can't live with for that long.
