I have a 2007 Dodge Nitro SLT, 3.7 V6, 177831 miles. I have a coolant leak and could not determine the source of the leak. There is no hole in the radiator so that rules out. I’ve replaced the water pump and seal four times since 2019, searched for cracks and leaks within the housing and found none to my knowledge. Regardless of making the said repairs to the specifications in the Haynes book, within a day or so the leak comes back. Wherever it’s leaking from its hitting the crankshaft wheel and is spraying all over the engine compartment while driving. When idling you can see it drip directly in the center of the vehicle. I usually have to replace coolant in the reservoir every week but it’s starting to get expensive. The SUV has not overheated yet because of this I had no heat for the past two years (not heater core related). Am I missing something or is this one of those vehicles that I need to put on the curb for trash pickup day?
You should pressure test the cooling system to find the leak(s). If you still couldn’t find it, use UV dye kit for coolants. Scotty has a video on that.
