I had a question for you all...
I drive an 05 Honda Accord ex sedan with the 2.4L engine.
I have a code that's been tripping on and off... It is for bad data from O2 sensor 2. Anyway, I figure my downstream O2 sensor is starting to go bad.
I was told that I should replace both sensors at once, so I started searching for replacements. Anyway, I was looking around for the parts and I know, especially on Hondas, to avoid aftermarket sensors.
Beyond that though I found some people suggesting NTK and others saying Denso (some suggested Bosch but more people said they had nothing but trouble with the Bosch sensors).
They aren't exactly cheap, so I don't want to go with the wrong ones . At the same time it will be MUCH cheaper than buying Honda branded parts.
Anyway, in this case, should I go with Denso or NTK/NGK?
Also, more broadly, how does one determine who is the OEM manufacturer for a particular part in any car?
Thanks!
Well typically the "rule" for me is jap cars with jap parts and merican cars with merican parts. So bosh is a great brand but with any honda or toyota that rolls in I would more than likely recommend Denso or NGK(I use for both when available). If a mopar, ford car came in I would recommend bosh. That's just kinda up in the air since everyone has various results. My results show me that my taught (from mentor) method works.
I usually go with aftermarket Denso or NGK. I know Denso is tightly wound up with Honda. Not so sure what the relationship with Honda and NGK.
