How often should I change CVT fluid?

I was able to sell my 2017 vw tiguan 2.0tsi with 140k miles and at least recoup what I paid in repairs.

I got a used corolla 1.8 naturally aspirated with 40k miles. The dealer says I never have to change the cvt fluid, a local mechanic told me 90-100k intervals. Scottys video says 50k miles. Any clarity on this?

If you want it to last as long as possible do as Scotty says. Be sure to use genuine Toyota fluid.

CVTs get dirty quickly. 30-40k

With CVTs, I would go with every 30,000 miles.  Use only the OEM fluid.

They're obviously lying, they want you to buy a new car from them.

That's also incorrect. If anything, the fact you have a CVT should make you change it more often. Those CVTs are extremely complex. I'd go every 40k to 50k miles.

For a Toyota CVT at the very least, what Scotty recommends, 50K miles. Heck, you are at 40K right now. You could do it, and see how bad it is, so you can know for next time. If you need to do it more frequently, or if it could go a little longer.

For a Jatco CVT or almost any other CVT, I would do it every 20K-30K. Jatco CVT seems to wear a lot faster.
