hi scotty
i have a 2010 toyota venza 4 cylinder awd with 163,000 km = 101,283 miles. My fuel economy is very bad. It takes 13 litres/100 km which is 18 mpg. This is mostly highway driving. I have already cleaned the MAF sensor and changed the engine air filter.
Im going to go for a full efi service soon where they pressure clean the fuel injectors.
is there anything else i should try?
i have live data of the fuel trim when the engine was warm and at idle
SHRTFT1 5.5%
LONGFT1 -0.8%
Another thing i would like to mention is that at cold starts the idle is around 1500 rpm. After the engine gets warm idle is around 600-700
Please help
it's an 11yo vehicle. Engines just wear out. Especially 4-banger SUVs'. Your fuel trims and idle are fine.
Do you thing cleaning throttle body would help ?
if it's dirty
That cold and warmed up idle rpm is correct.
Change the spark plugs, make sure that he air filter is clean and the tires are properly inflated.
