How do you feel about Fuel Electric Cars?
I am from Alice Springs NT Australia and EV's limited range with few if any towns and no real EV Charging (not likely for there to be much outside cities for at least the next Decade!) has me concerned about ability to charge and battery life/safety (as well as Maintenance/Repairs!) in extreme heat but do agree we need to reduce fuel consumption, I believe that a Fuel Electric Car has the best of both worlds with little compromise unlike Hybrid Cars or Full EV's!
Also do you believe EV's should be allowed to use the Battery Pack as a Structural Component of the Car? I am personally against this as from my understanding it makes it much harder to fix or replace the pack!

Are you talking about hydrogen fuel cell power sources, like the the Toyota Mirai?

Generally speaking though, I’m down for almost any technology if it can meet or best current technology in:
- price
- reliability and longevity
- Easy and low cost maintenance
- refuel ability (time)
- ergonomic tactile buttons/sliders/knobs

The closest car I can the of is Honda’s latest generations of hybrids, like the CR-V hybrid and Accord hybrid. (They may have a different marketing name besides hybrid.)
the gas engine generates the electricity for the electric motor. And the electric motor drives the car until about 45mph. Just the electric motor. But above 45mph, the regular engine takes over, since it is actually more energy efficient to do so.
I’m trying to think if there is a “fuel electric” vehicle. Maybe the Chevy Volt would sort of fall under this category. And the Fisker Karma. But I really don’t know of any available.
