slipping in first gear

Our 2005 Honda Pilot, 250,000 miles, has ongoing transmission problems - slipping in first gear.  Previous posts included using Lucas Stop Slip and it seems to have helped a little.  Prior to the fluid change-out with stop slip, there were some engine codes that were read after the exercise despite the engine light being 'ON' prior to the work.  The codes are P0706 and P0746.

The P0706 Range Sensor looks like a neutral safety switch (?) based on Internet searches; I would not think this affects the slipping problem

P0746 Clutch Pressure Control Solenoid sounds like it causes hard shifts; the car does shift a little harder likely because it is slipping in 1st gear

Is it worth changing out any of the electrical components or just search for a nice caring junkyard to put the car out-to-pasture?

It sure sounds like your transmission is worn out after 19 years of service and enough miles to reach the moon. Honda automatic transmissions of that era are known to be weak.

You might want to have transmission condition verified by a transmission expert but I'd say it's time to start looking for a replacement vehicle.
