I have a automatic 2006 Toyota Avalon Xls with 300,000km. I notice this weird sound ever since I got this car back in 2008 when I start my car and I drive the first thing it does is makes this weird sound on the front right of the wheel like it’s grinding/stuttering something then it disappears. It only happens every time when I start my car and I drive ONCE. I’ve been driving the car adding roughly 250,000km in total and just curious what’s this sound I can record the sound/video if you would to hear it. Also I never changed the wheel bearings at all so they’re still originals.
If the sounds disappears, it is not from your wheel bearing. and wheel bearings are usually do not go bad that soon if you drive on normal roads. With that said, I suggest that you lift the front car (the side that makes noise) and check the tire and brake. spin the tires and find the noise source.
@yaser
300,000 km isn't too soon for wheel bearings.
It is a Toyota, not some Chrysler junks.
It might be a drive shaft take the xar to a big empty car park go round in circles full lock both ways if its grinding banging possibley a drive shaft wheel bearing on front wheel drive cars last years as there a bigger bearing jack the xar up on yhe side you thinks bad knock it out of gear spin yhe wheel buy hand is it rough then geab wheel at 3 and 9 oclock pull back and firward is yhere any play yhen 12 and 6 same thing is there play you xan also drive on a nice smooth road in a straight line and go slightley side to side a swerv if you like putting the weight of yhe car on each bearing you should hear and chanfes in pitch ignore tyre roar though also is it defenatley yhe front as noises xan travel backwards hope this all makes sence cheers ivan
Sorry about words i have sausage fingers lol
sounds more like the brake rotor is rusting up a bit when sitting... the rust polishes off the first time you use the brakes and then it's fine.
Not suspecting a wheel bearing in this case.
