Hello Scott,

First of all, I would like to thank you for teaching us fixing our cars on our own. Your videos saved me a lot of bucks, and I was able to fix my car on my own. Today, I have a question regarding my 2013 Toyota Prius. So, I was involved in a minor fender bender and I rear-ended someone. Right after the accident, I turned off the car and nothing was wrong no warning light. After exchanging information with the other party, I started my car normal and started driving. Shortly after, I started getting a Hybrid System Failure error on my dash. I opened the hood and noticed that the front hood pinched the air filter housing and made a hole in it. I am wondering if the this error can be triggered due to air inflow directly from the hole and that's why I am getting this error or there may be something big? Your help in this regard will be really appreciated. Thank you!

"Hybrid System Malfuction" is an incredible general and ambiguous phrase. It could mean almost anything.

You need to run a full diagnostic scan to get the particulars.

Obviously your car needs some repairs.

If you have the ability to, connect a scan tool and see if there are any codes. Also, look for anything else that could have been pinched or damaged during the collision. In the engine and underneath the car. The computer knows something is up, it’s a matter of we can decipher what it is seeing.
