Hello! I drive a manual 2002 Acura RSX (base model) with 140k miles. Lately it’s been throwing a p1078 code (intake manifold runner control valve malfunction) I took the runners out and cleaned them up, reinstalled, now it’s throwing a p1077 code with the same (intake manifold runner control valve malfunction) message. Do you have any idea what the problem could be? PS I will fix this problem, and I will drive this car until the day I die!

Well sometimes I get warped and they stick and sometimes the control units go bad too and the sensors that give the feedback to really check it without pure guesswork you need a guy like me with the dealer level scan tool who can actually do bi-directional testing to see what is broken rather than guess

Thank you so much scotty! I didn’t have the runners positioned correctly upon reinstallation! I think I may have to invest in one of those scanners!
