Hey Scotty! My mom drives a 2015 Kia Soul, not sure the mileage, but she just got a recall because her engine could explode without warning, she called the dealership and they told her they didn't have any information and to try again in a couple weeks. This is kind of concerning considering she could die and was told just to wait, if she took it to a regular mechanic would they be able to tell her if her engine is going to catch fire or not? You're so right about Kia, glad I drive a Camry lol

This is happening to millions of vehicles and for almost a decade now Hyundai group has been running away from recalls but now they are recalling lots of vehicles at this point any vehicle made by Hyundai after 2010 is affected basically, even if its not recalled.
Please be wary, yes they do catch on fire and this is a safety issue. I would pursue your legal rights to the fullest extent possible don't get fooled by the dealers if the engine blows up and they are going to make you pay for it.
Well, which part is the culprit according to Kia? Is it mentioned in the letter?
Korean vehicles are junk.
I have a two month old Sorento . I don't what I would do in the mall parking lot without the smoke and flames that show me where my car is at. I got a notice that the fly by wire accelerator pedal has a defect that could cause uncontrollable acceleration. NTSB listed it as a minor crash hazard. Just don't tell my wife.. {black}
What in the?! Has Kia already replaced the affected parts? Or are they just dilly dallying as usual?
P.S Train the wife on how to stop the car using the shift lever & parking brake, if she ever encounters the unintended acceleration scenario (in any vehicle).

If you can find the exact part that fails you can have a mechanic check it to see what condition it is in. Otherwise waiting is about the only option.
Does the recall letter provide any contact information or instructions?
If not, then call Kia's national hotline and explain the situation.

well he has the Soul, so I would not wait for anybody to call me. I would contact them immediately.
Yea thats BS. Gotta recall notice, call another KIA dealer. Hold there feet to the fire. Go into service and start "barking" a bit, you'll get action. Have seen it work many times especially if other customers around.
