Got a 2001 Honda crv awd 176k miles
All of a sudden brake light comes on.
And have started loosing whole reservoir of fluid within 2-3 hours of driving.
Where could it be leaking that is even capable of leaking that much fluid that quickly
Still brakes like normal no squishy feeling
Could bad rear wheel bearings mess with the brakes at some point?
Huh? Why would you think that? Maybe if the bearing was so bad the wheel fell off and tore off a brake line in the process.
As Scotty says you have a leak. On a car that old it can be anywhere in the brake system.
Will the brake booster and master cylinder from a 1998 Crv fit in a 2001?
Why would you want to install 26-year-old brake parts? There's a very good chance they're bad or will fail soon. Do they look identical to what's in your car and have the same part numbers?
Well, it's one of two things. If you have an external leak you'll see fluid all over the place where it's leaking like at the wheel or wherever it's leaking. So that's simple. If you can't see a leak then it's the brake master cylinder and it can leak inside the brake booster which you won't see because that's all internal. Then you'd have to replace the master cylinder and quick suck all the fluid out of the booster and hope the booster wasn't ruined
Thank you for the response scotty your awesome!
Could bad rear wheel bearings mess with the brakes at some point? Been driving for a while with the hum in the back.
Also looked under hood don't see bunch of brake fluid anywhere, nor under the car. Will look more again in daytime

I have a 98 parts car.
Some websites show 97-01
Some say 99-01
So confusing
